Bruce H. Brennaman, M.D.


Dr. Brennaman came to Surgical Associates of Columbus in August of 1988. A native of nearby Smyrna, Georgia, Dr. Brennaman received his BS in Applied Biology at the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1976. He then attended the Medical College of Georgia where he received his MD in 1980. Dr. Brennaman completed his general surgery residency at the University of Florida Hospitals and Clinics in Gainesville, finishing his chief resident year in 1985. After completion of general surgery training, Dr. Brennaman remained at the University of Florida for a year where he took a faculty position as a Clinical Instructor of General Surgery. Pursuing his interest in peripheral vascular surgery, Dr. Brennaman then moved to Detroit, MI where he completed two additional years of training in vascular surgery at the Henry Ford Hospital. He has also completed extensive training in endovascular surgery to include endovascular treatment of aortic aneurysm, carotid artery disease, renovascular disease, hemodialysis access and extremity vascular disease. He was the third surgeon to join Surgical Associates of Columbus when he began practice in 1988.

Dr. Brennaman is certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He has also earned the American Board of Surgery certificate of Added Qualifications in General Vascular Surgery. He is certified by the American College of Surgeons as a provider and instructor for Advanced Trauma Life Support. He is on the medical staff of The Medical Center. He is a former Chairman of the Department of Surgery at The Medical Center. Dr. Brennaman serves as the medical director of the Vascular Laboratory at The Medical Center. While Dr. Brennaman is a fully trained and certified general surgeon, his special interest is in peripheral vascular and endovascular surgery.
